JSterling is a New York based makeup artist and educator / lecturer on the subject of beauty and inspiration. His work has appeared in countless regional, national and international magazines. He has worked with a diverse range of celebrities including Liam Neeson, Mandy Moore, Natasha Henstridge, Robin Tuney, Vivian Green and Kherington Payne, to name a few.

JSterling has worked in all aspects of the beauty industry. As a licensed professional, he has worked as a hair stylist, esthetician, makeup artist and is a New York State certified instructor.

As an educator, he has been adamant about giving back to an industry that has been so very kind to him. Over the course of his career many talented experts have generously given of their time and insights. Increasingly the beauty industry and its connected fields have been pushed into the spotlight earning much deserved respect.

He believes when the spotlight turns to us, we must be professional and meet the challenge. He strongly believes in the transformative power of makeup. However, the transformation does not stop at the physical transformation. Beyond the promise that cosmetics offer exists their true impact. That is, empowering the individual, enhancing self-esteem and promoting a sense of well-being, to truly go beyond the bounds of beauty.

A talented, motivated and ambitious professional makeup artist, Dan Delgado has embarked on a career working in the fashion industry for over six years. Having always held a love for fashion and makeup, in 2011 after he decided to consolidate his natural talent and started working towards his true passion in the makeup artistry.

Through his assisting, freelance and personal work, Dan honed his classic techniques and familiarity with products that helped him develop his own unique and dependable style, allowing him to achieve picture perfect looks time and time again.

Dan has been working successfully as a freelance makeup artist within the music, fashion and film industries, working alongside several respected and demanding photographers, such as Paul Blundell, Sandro Hyams, Nian Canard, Faby and Carlo Nicora. His work has been published in the UK and internationally in a number of different high-end publications.

Dan was the Key makeup artist during London Fashion week 2014 for Sydney-Davies AW launch as well as part of the show team for the Nicholas Oakwell shows. Dan’s clients include Vinti Andrews, Tzuji & Sydney-Daviesin fashion, Rosie Vanier, Alix Perez, Mercedes, Leanne Jarvist & Bavanandan in music and Agencies, such Deevilfish Creative, Free Seed Films and Clearhead. Recently Dan was an integral part of the production of the first ever cinematically released music album, Whiplashdreams

Sarai Speer is a nationwide educator and Artistic Director with Trionic and Olaplex. What is most magnetizing about this incredible blonding wizard and Hair Artisan is her deep rooted passion for educating fellow Beauty Artisans. Sarai has never kept hair/color recipes secret when others made it a habit to do so because she has always believed in sharing the knowledge that would improve the industry and help create more amazing hair artistry. Sarai says the best way to get engagement is to post “controversial, outlandish, hilarious, crazy, amazing transformations.” It’s worked for her! According to Sarai, social media has completely changed her life. “I’ve been able to build my dream clientele” as a result of Instagram. “It has helped me meet some amazing friends! I’m really grateful for the relationships I’ve built from social media that I wouldn’t have been able to do on my own.”

After being in the Beauty Industry for over 15 years, it is safe to say that Sarai’s passion for hair is unreal. The creator of the “Whoville Christmas Tree Technique” (Which Allure Magazine called “terrifying”),  Sarai is no stranger to being center stage. She is currently a NAHA Nominee for Educator of the Year and has been featured in Buzzfeed, Cosmo and Popsugar. Sarai continues to share her passion and knowledge via her Instagram and her incredible educational classes that are, like Sarai, inimitable.

Denis Kartashev

Denis joins the IBI Independent Judging Council with 20 years experience. Denis began teaching in 2003 at the May Training Center. He spent the next 7 years helping to cultivate the skills of future Beauty Artisans at the most prestigious beauty school in Russia, the Dolores Academy. His passion in education then led Denis to open his own Makeup Academy, Denis Kartashev Makeup Academy. Here he could use his years of experience to curate the educational content of his students personally. Denis has travelled to over 20 countries to teach his Master Classes including the US, Germany, Romania, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Spain, Hungary, France, Austria, Moldova, Ukraine, Mexico, Hong Kong, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Greece, and Georgia.

Denis lends his expertise to selecting the next IBI Awards winners having won numerous awards himself, including Champion of Russia in Makeup and the winner of the Grand Prix International Mondal Coiffure Beaute in Paris, France.

Denis has also shared his talents with IMATS London and The Makeup Show, NY as a speaker and Jury member. His incredible Beauty Artistry can be seen at Fashion week in NY, Paris and Russia and also in print on the pages of Elle and Vogue.

Amanda Christan has worked as a makeup artist in the beauty and fashion industry for over 18 years in New York. She is a well-known beauty expert, and her work has appeared in leading fashion magazines like Harper’s Bazaar, New York Magazine and Rolling Stone. Her makeup has also been seen on the runways of New York fashion week. Her celebrity clients have included Sarah Jessica Parker, Natalie Portman, Sharon Stone and Isabella Rossellini, to name a few. Her work has also taken her to the Grammy Awards, working with musicians Sheryl Crow, Fiona Apple and Joan Baez. Amanda Christan has been the spokesperson for major cosmetic companies in America including Max Factor and Bourjois. She has made national television appearances and press events with top beauty editors. Through her art and love of makeup, she has worked to create a space where all women can feel beautiful in their own skin. Amanda Christan brings a positive energy to all the women she works with to promote a feeling of beauty and peace within.


Irish Hair Artisan, Roy Leigh joins the Independent IBI Judging Council with nearly 13 years experience. Roy is no stranger to awards, winning multiple honors including Best Hairstylist and Most Creative in Hair- Image Bob Awards, The L’Oreal Colour Trophy for Men’s Image (and has also placed as finalist in the Ladies category) and won the Best Black and White Image in the Best of Best Photographic Awards.

Roy Leigh has shared his incredible Hair Artistry in multiple magazines including Image, Tatler, Social and Personal, Life Magazine Sunday Independent, Xpose, Irish Country Magazine, and Off Black Magazine.

A L’Oreal ID Artist, Roy enjoys the challenge of competition and has competed in many hair shows. Most recently he brought his unique talents to the L’Oreal Colour Trophy Finale Show, Gloss Magazine’s Look the Business Show as Lead Artist, Lennon and Courtney Dunnes Stores Show and Gok Wans Fashion Brunch Show.

Roy also creates incredible hair artistry for celebrity clients like Caitlyn Jenner, Aoife Mcgregor, Dee devlin, and Amanda Bryan. Roy’s Hair Artistry also graces the runway during Fashion week for designers like Hermes, Issey Miyake and D&G.

Hair is art and clients are paintings. We are so lucky to have an ever changing  industry to keep us both motivated and creative. Every avenue should be explored from the salon floor to  backstage at Paris fashion week and everything in between! Growth and experience in the beauty industry is endless!

Billy Orr is an international hair and make-up artist with over 20 years’ experience in the beauty industry. Born in Scotland but based in Dublin, his career has taken him from Morocco to Dubai working with the biggest brands in the business.

Billy began his career as a hairdresser before going on to study hair and make-up for film and TV. This unique combination along with his masterful hand made him the go-to artist for celebrities in the music and entertainment industry, with stars, such as Lady Gaga,  Olivia Palermo and Lyra requesting him for Gala events, TV appearances and photoshoots.

Billy has collaborated with global brands, including L’Oréal Paris, Dior, Estee Lauder and Dyson on seasonal activity, creative campaigns, advertorials, and video production. His travels have taken him to Russia, Portugal, Morocco, and Dubai where he worked on shoots doing editorial hair and make-up looks for luxury brands, such as Dior, Bvulgari and D-Squared. His work has been regularly featured on international publications, including Marie Claire, Harper’s Bazaar, Cosmopolitan and L’Officiel.

Billy’s recent TV credits include Ireland’s Got Talent, Dancing with the Stars, Celebrity Home of the Year, Irish Film & Television Awards and The Irish Rugby Player Awards to name a few.

Haley Garber

Haley Garber is an award winning on site styling specialist based out of North Carolina. She has been licensed for 6 years and has a passion for creating an amazing experience and sharing education.

Haley’s goal is to always help create and boost confidence, for both those sitting in her chair and those working behind it. She is a part of the Modern Salon Artist Connective team as well as the Cosmoprof Cosmopro team. She enjoys competing and has been multi nominated for her styling.

When Haley isn’t styling or educating, she is working to create awareness of human trafficking and how the beauty industry can play an important role in combating it. She has a deep love for the industry and in encouraging others to create the best work and life that they can.
